Europa League Match day 2.

With 25 games taking place in the Europa League tonight, we thought we’d take a look at where the value is…
Starting with the English Contingent, Wolves face a trip to Turkish side Besiktas, who have endured a torrid start to the season, much like Wolves themselves. This has led the bookies to have the home side at a very generous 23/10, we think this is good value as despite their woeful run, Besiktas have not lost at home this season, and they boast a notoriously hostile atmosphere at Vodafone Park. They also have a pretty good record against English teams at home. Beating Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. Current Southampton manager Ralph Hassenhutl once commented that “It is impossible to prepare your team for an atmosphere like this,” after taking his RB Leizpig side there a couple of years ago. As fearless as Wolves are, they’re European pedigree with this side is pretty small, so AVOID betting them to win at the short price of 6/5.
Manchester United travel to the Nederlands to take on AZ Alkmaar who have been quite the goal scoring force this season and sit third in the dutch league, United at the moment are struggling in front of goal, and expect to see Mason Greenwood start tonight as he looks to continue his form. The odds offer little value here, with AZ at 21/10 and United at 13/10. If he starts get 6/1 on Greenwood to open the scoring. Otherwise possibly avoid this fixture as it really could be any result with the way both sides are playing.
Rangers are back in European action against Swiss champions Young Boys tonight and despite not losing so far in Europe this season, We think Young Boys might have their number tonight, and they are playing on an artificial pitch to only add to the task. They are short at 19/20 but they will be desperate for win tonight, after losing the opening group game to Porto, they won the Swiss league last season by twenty points, but they are not the greatest defensively so our bet for this one would be Young Boys and BTTS @ 11/4.
Arsenal V Standard Liege takes place at the Emirates tonight and with the result in GW1 against Frankfurt, Arsenals hardest task has been dispatched you feel already, Liege are second in the Belgian Pro League and have scored 21 goals this season so once again, boost your odds by adding in a BTTS with this one and get Arsenal and BTTS @ 8/5
Celtic are also in action against Romanian Outfit CFR Cluj, who actually beat Lazio in the opener, while Celtic drew with Rennes. Cluj are available at 11/2 here which is quite baffling, considering Celtics consistent failure in Europe this season, and in seasons gone before. Cluj will be confident of making it back to back wins, and there is no value in betting Celtic at 4/7, especially after they drew with Hibbs at the weekend. If you’re feeling lucky back Cluj to win and upset the scots @ 11/2.
Elsewhere from the straight result picks, a BTTS YES accumulator could prove profitable tonight, with lots of evenly matched quality around. Here is our list of picks to build from.
- St Etiene Vs Wolfsburg
- Lazio vs Rennes
- Feyenoord vs Fc Porto
- Rosenborg Vs PSV
- Malmo Vs Copenhagen
We will be back to preview this weekends Premier League and Football League fixtures as we try to continue our winning form.
Whatever you are betting on tonight, good luck from the AYT Team.
